About the Event

Games are full of information, but how do we design them to capture the messy realities of misinformation and disinformation?

In this interactive teach-in, we’ll explore how to create mechanics that model information warfare in ways that are both accurate and engaging. Drawing on his own award-winning game designs, Scott DeJong will share design strategies that illuminate how disinformation spreads, how players respond, and what this means for education, policy, and wargaming practice.

This session is ideal for anyone interested in the intersection of communication, strategy, and game-based learning, and offers valuable insights for both new and experienced wargame facilitators.

About the Speaker

Scott DeJong is a game designer and researcher finalizing his PhD in Communication at Concordia University in Montreal. His work examines tactics of media manipulation and builds tools to teach, research, and develop policy insights around misinformation and disinformation.
