About the event
Thirteen thousand games are published annually worldwide. So what actually gets one noticed — and used?
This session is for game designers at any stage who want to understand the business side of what they're building: how to approach publishers, how to make your design stand apart, and — if you're designing for professional or institutional use — how to structure your game so it's cost-effective to produce and scalable across organizations.
Jim Dietz has lived this question from every angle. He's taught at the secondary, two-year, and four-year college levels; owned two game stores in Illinois; and ran Jolly Roger Games for nearly two decades. He's also an award-winning volleyball coach and author of several novels and coaching books. Jim knows what it takes to build something that holds up, in the classroom, in the market, and in the field.
We'll spend 30 minutes in conversation and 30 minutes…
